What’s the fastest way to get rid of pimples?

Is your skin breaking out? You’re not alone. According to Yale Medicine, 85% of individuals between 12-25 years old suffer from acne.

One of the biggest questions on your mind, when you suffer from a breakout, is probably regarding what you can do to make your unwelcome new companions go away — as soon as possible.

In many cases, the best thing you can do for your skin is to simply leave your acne alone and keep your face as clean as possible. However, we all know that’s easier said than done, so if you’re looking for a quick way to get rid of your pimples, let’s start by first understanding what causes them to begin with.

What causes acne?

There is more than one common cause of acne and the reason you woke up to your breakout this morning can vary dramatically depending on your lifestyle, eating habits, and medical history.

Some of the most common causes of acne include:

  • Hormonal imbalance inside the body (excess androgen levels)
  • Bacteria
  • Clogged pores or hair follicles
  • Excess oil production

Your diet also affects how clear your skin is. Studies have proven a strong association between a high-glycemic load diet (processed foods) and acne. Consuming dairy has been linked to acne as well.

In order to help clear your skin as fast as possible, you need to address the root of the problem. However, for a quick fix to a random breakout, you can try at-home remedies which have been tried and tested through time.

Despite the fact there may be a wide variety of external factors contributing to your breakout, most pimples do have universal traits and they can be diminished dramatically following a few simple steps.

One highly popular way to shrink a pimple instantly is the cold-press method.

HOW DO I USE THE COLD-PRESS METHOD TO GET RID OF MY PIMPLES, FAST?

Acne is essentially just inflammation of your skin. In order to get rid of the pimple, or to at the very least, reduce its size, it’s always a good idea to try and get rid of this inflammation. One of the best and fastest ways to do this is by using the cold-press method.

  1. Take an ice cube and press it against the pimple for three minutes
  2. Yeah, there’s just one step

The cold press method will help decrease the size of your pimple.

Using ice works to reduce inflammation by delaying the infiltration of inflammatory cells and changing vessel volume in tissues after they are faced with an injury.

The pimple generally won’t go away completely until it has completed its entire time-consuming cycle and the sebum inside it has cleared out. However, you can shorten its life cycle by targeting inflammation.

Another great technique to get rid of pimples fast is to try and dry them out using the exact opposite of the cold-press method: the heat-press method

HOW CAN I USE THE SEA SALT heat-press method TO GET RID OF PIMPLES, FAST?

The heat-press method uses the power of osmosis to encourage your pimple to dry out faster. Here’s how you follow through with it:

  1. Fill a glass halfway with very, very hot water
  2. Take two tablespoons of sea salt and mix it into the water
  3. Take a cotton ball/swab and saturate it with the hot salt water
  4. Press the swab on your pimple for three minutes without removing it

The magnesium in sea salt works to rejuvenate skin cells and also to help reduce roughness and inflammation.

How do you get rid of a pimple overnight? aspirin mask

You can’t truly get rid of a pimple overnight, but you can reduce its size dramatically.

If you have a pimple you just need to get rid of, the best thing you can do is to leave it alone and let it undergo its cycle. However, not all of us have that sort of inhibition so using the cold-press method to reduce the swelling or the heat-press method to dry it out will help minimize its appearance.

You can speed things up even further by applying an acetylsalicylic acid paste (crushed aspirin+ water) on the pimple overnight. This aspirin paste is best for whiteheads and blackheads because of its ability to unclog pores. However, it can be used on cystic acne as well because it has drying effects and it also prevents inflammation.

Aspirin works by inhibiting certain enzymes which in turn decreases the production of prostaglandins (which contribute to inflammation). Aspirin also utilizes nitric acid and cGMP to inhibit the neutrophilic activation of platelets and further decreases inflammation.

If anyone wants to get rid of their pimples as soon as possible they should consider getting a steroid shot from their doctor. However, in most cases, this is not necessary. Using the above methods will be sure to get you positive results and help reduce the size of your pimple overnight.

  • Be careful not to pop your pimple while using the above methods! Popping it can spread the bacteria around and also lead to some long-term scarring.
  • Be careful not to use water that’s too hot when using the heat-press method

These simple techniques can help you minimize the impact of your breakout, but they won’t clear up your acne forever. If you’re suffering from acne, you should switch to a simple skincare routine and try and clean up your diet. If your breakout won’t go away on its own, you should make sure to see a dermatologist as soon as possible for professional skin advice.
